Store unused Zepbound KwikPen in the refrigerator (2°C to 8°C) until expiry. Do not freeze. Used KwikPens may be stored at room temperature up to 30°C for up to 30 days. Discard the KwikPen in a sharps disposal container 30 days after first use or after receiving the 4 weekly doses.
How do I store used and unused Zepbound KwikPen?
Unused KwikPen:
Store unused KwikPen in the refrigerator between 2°C to 8°C.
Unused KwikPen may be used until the expiration date printed on the label if the pen has been kept in the refrigerator.
Do not freeze your KwikPen. Throw away the KwikPen if it has been frozen.
If needed, the KwikPen can be stored unrefrigerated at temperatures not to exceed 30°C for up to 30 days.
Used KwikPen:
You may store your used KwikPen at room temperature up to 30°C for up to 30 days.
If during that time, the Zepbound KwikPen is inadvertently placed in the refrigerator (between 2°C to 8°C), the patient may continue to use the KwikPen. Lilly has data to support that cycling the Zepbound KwikPen between refrigerated conditions and room temperature conditions does not impact product quality during the 30 day in-use period.
Throw away the KwikPen 30 days after first use even though the KwikPen has medication left in it.
Throw away the KwikPen after receiving 4 weekly doses. Attempting to inject any leftover medicine could result in an incomplete dose even though the KwikPen still has medication left in it.
Additional Important Information:
Keep away from heat and light.
Make sure to remove the needle and replace the pen cap after injection.
Keep your KwikPen, needles, sharps container and all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.
When should I not use Zepbound KwikPen?
Do not use the Zepbound KwikPen if:
It was frozen (at or below 0°C)
It is damaged
It contains a medicine that does not look normal, for example if the medicine in the pen is cloudy, discoloured or has particles in it.
It is expired
