[00:00 - 00:05]
A basketball team in full uniform is walking down a narrow hallway. Voiceover begins: “You know, you only get one body.”
[00:06 - 00:08]
The team continues to walk forward in a line and music begins to play softly in the background.
The voiceover continues, “It might turn out seven feet tall.”
[00:09 - 00:10]
The view shifts to the perspective of the tallest player, who ducks his head under the doorway as the team exits their locker room.
[00:11 - 0:13]
The view cuts to the first-person perspective of a gymnast who flips through the air. At the same time, the voiceover continues, “It might be the perfect size to do this”.
[00:14 - 0:16]
Returning to the third-person perspective, the view cuts to the gymnast sticking the landing. The crowd cheers as a big video board displays a closer look at the gymnast’s face.
[00:17]
The view cuts to a powerlifter, standing over weights in an empty gym. The voiceover continues, “Your body may take up a lot of space”.
[00:18 - 00:21]
The powerlifter grunts as he thrusts the weight above his head
[00:22 - 00:24]
The view cuts to a paralympic runner racing on a track, and the voice continues,“Or, it may move differently.”
[00:25]
The race continues as the view shifts to the point of view of the runner approaching the finish line.
[00:26 - 00:29]
The voiceover continues, “And someday, your body might get sick”. A doorway peers open and reveals a woman with a concerned expression, collecting strands of her hair in her hand that had fallen out of her head.
[00:30]
The view cuts to a young girl, who is looking through the doorway.
[00:31 - 00:33]
The voiceover continues, “Because no matter how strong you make your body...”, and the view cuts to two men in a gym in a wrestling match.
[00:34 - 00:37]
As the view pans towards the ceiling, the screen fades to black and a bright beam of light fills the screen. The voiceover continues, “... its health may be out of your control”.
[00:38 - 00:46]
The light starts to fade, revealing a woman wearing medical scrubs. At the same time, the voiceover continues: “But you don't have to accept that. After all, about a billion things had to happen for you to even be born”. The view shifts as the doctor lifts up a newborn baby.
[00:47]
The mother looks at her baby as she lays on her hospital bed.
[00:48 - 00:53]
The doctor wraps the baby in a blanket to hand them to their mother. As the mother embraces her baby, the voiceover continues, “And since you only get one body…”.
[00:54 - 00:55]
The view shifts to the face of the baby, and the voiceover continues, “...let’s fight like hell for it”.
[00:56 - 00:58]
The picture remains the same and text appears on the screen reading, “Lilly A Medicine Company”.
[00:59 - 00:60]
The screen fades to black and the Lilly logo appears alongside the Olympics rings. Text appears on screen reading: “Proud Partner of the U.S. Olympic and U.S. Paralympic Teams”
This is a paid partnership between Lilly and Suni Lee.
Meet Our Team USA Athletes
They don’t all compete in the same events. They didn’t take the same paths to get here. But, our Team USA athletes do all share one thing in common: a connection to our work to make life better. Whether it's a passion for health, or an experience—directly or through a loved one—with a health condition we help treat, these athletes hold a special spot on our team.
