Does the Mounjaro KwikPen come with pen needles? If not, why are there no pen needles in the pack?

Eli Lilly and Company does not manufacture pen needles.

Furthermore, the Mounjaro KwikPen is compatible with different pen needles, including needles of different sizes, and needles of different manufacturers with different characteristics. Supplying medicine and needles separately allows the health care professional and patient to choose a needle that is appropriate for the patient.

What pen needles are appropriate to use with the Mounjaro KwikPen?

The Mounjaro KwikPen is compatible with ISO 11608-2 compliant pen needles from brands such as Embecta (formerly BD), Novo Nordisk, and Terumo, in any length and gauge combination:

  • Lengths: 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 12.7mm
  • Gauge: 29G, 30G, 31G, 32G, 33G, 34G

Not all length and gauge combinations are commercially available. ISO compliant and compatibility information may be found on pen needle packaging, manufacturer's website, or by contacting the manufacturer directly.

Consult your healthcare provider for pen needle recommendations and guidance on proper injection technique.
